Just imagine: you’re watching that movie for the thirtieth time (always repeating the lines and singing the songs at the top of your lungs), and your soda/juice/wine/water/tea lands on your favorite spot on the couch. And now? Do you know how to clean the sofa liquid without spoiling it? See our tips here!
Who never spilled any liquid on the couch? But do you know what to do? Well, if you don’t react quickly, it could become a more difficult stain to clean later. So, here are some tips for you to clean liquid from your sofa.
Spilled liquid on the couch? Don´t panic !
If, by chance, you spill some liquid on the couch, don’t despair. Take a paper towel and try to blot up as much of the liquid as you can, but don’t rub it, that way the liquid won’t spread (because we don’t want a copy of Jabba the Hutt on our couch).
After that, you can use a little neutral liquid detergent and water to clean the rest and finish with a dry cloth.
It stained! And now?
How to clean sofa liquid
You couldn’t run at lightning speed to avoid the liquid staining or you just realized you spilled your drink the next day and now you have a stain in the shape of the state you were born in on your couch. And now?
The material of your sofa and the type of liquid will determine the next steps to remove the stain.
For fabric sofas, there is a base mix that can be used:
- 1 cup of water;
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar;
- 1 teaspoon of neutral liquid detergent;
- 1 spoon of sodium bicarbonate.
Put the combined contents in a spray bottle. Afterward, apply the solution directly to the stain and scrub with a soft brush (avoid rougher materials so as not to damage the fabric of the sofa). And finally, use a damp cloth to remove excess and a dry cloth to finish.
